External Description of the Polar Bear
Size: Adult male: 770-1,500lbs in weight, 7.9-9.8ft in length
Adult female: 330-550lbs in weight, 5.9-7.9ft in length
Symmetry: Bilateral
Color: Black skin with transparent fur which makes the bear appear white-tan in color and yellows with age
Body Covering: A layer of dense underfur and an outer layer of guard hairs
Eyes/visual: Eyesight comparable to humans, black circular eyes
Nostril: Long black snout which enables them to smell their prey up to 20miles away
Ear: Small rounded ears which keep water from entering the Polar Bear's ears and freezing their eardrums, hearing is slightly higher than humans but not as high as a dog's.
Tail: Short, white, rounded tail
Teeth: Six shorter teeth on top and bottom with four very large sharp teeth at the four corners of the mouth.
